Secret Leaked Report Reveals Blue-Sky Thinking
Expansion of Heathrow won't simply require a third runway - but also a second sky, according to a secret government report obtained by News42.
The sheer volume of aircraft taking off from, and landing at, the airport means the existing sky has become congested. The report envisages that it may become completely full before the third runway reaches even 25% of its capacity.
"But at least this is one form of expansion that will be popular with environmental campaigners", the report states, "All that nice new blue sky and fresh air. It could be a very popular pre-election move."
However, there are challenges ahead, report concludes: "At this time it's not immediately apparant how the secondary sky might be implemented within existing departmental resources. We recommend paying a couple of million to a large consultancy firm who we're sure will come up with something."
