Andy Mann, Home Affairs Correspondent

Andy's career includes stints at many of the UK's leading news outlets - the BBC, Sky News and ITN. After a while though he tired of contract cleaning jobs and decided to try his hand at journalism, joining News42 two years ago.
Following a nasty fatal incident in which the previous Home Affairs Editor appeared to have accidentally put a large amount of industrial cleaning fluid in his coffee (which made no discernible difference to the taste of the coffee from the machines here), Andy stepped up to take on the role.

Hugh Joorn, Economics Editor

Hugh graduated with a masters degree in Economics from the University of Batley, and then earned a PhD from an American website that contacted him via a mass email campaign.
He's never happier than when he has his nose in spreadsheets and charts full of facts and figures, and finding ways to explain economics to you as if you were a small child.

Ivor Sholder-Chipp, Columnist

Ivor is a grumpy old sod. Enough said.

Jack Orffe, Entertainment Reporter

Photo

Ever since he saw 'All The Presidents Men' Jack dreamed of being an investigative reporter who would uncover important stories that could change the world. Someone followed and respected by world leaders and other top journalists. Someone who would win Pullitzer prizes and other industry accolades.

Jay Walker, Legal Affairs Editor

Jay studied law at the University of Benningly-cum-Fenby, graduating with a condemnation. After two years study of the extensive benefits system in the UK, he was forced into gainful employment by his parents, who (by happy coincidence) own substantial shareholdings in News42's largest advertising client.
Jay is a valued member of the team, known for his hilarious sense of humour and love of endearing practical jokes as much as for his extended liquid lunch breaks.

Kay Boom, Science Editor

Kay can often be found wandering around the newsroom wearing her white coat and safety goggles as she applies herself seriously to the business of reporting all that science stuff.

Kay Tanner, Foreign Correspondent

It's not every day that Kay ends up in a gloriously sunny foreign location while we're stuck back here at base in the rain - she visits her parents in Surrey for a couple of days at Christmas each year.
The rest of the time she's in Dubai, Australia, Jamaica and so on - but never seems to find stories to report from Russia, Greenland, Iceand or Belgium.

Laura Biding, Legal Editor

What Laura doesn't know about the archaic British legal system, nobody needs to know. The major stress in her life is seeing how many of these laws her colleagues break each and every day.

Miss Stern, Education Correspondent

Photo

After leaving the teaching profession due to the pressure of long hours and few holidays, Miss Stern looked around for a quiter life and ended up in journalism after ruling out everything that required any kind of hard work.
She files her stories on Wednesdays in months with an 'R' in them, but still makes sure to leave work to get home in time for Home and Away.

Nick Munnie, Business Editor

Following a successful city career, ending in a nasty sacking from a large merchant bank, Nick entered journalism to 'give something back'. So far he's 'given back' a number of damaging investigative news reports about of the aforementioned merchant bank, which are currently the subject of a long running libel case.
Nick's ability to write and broadcast whatever he likes about a company - often moving its share price widlly with rumour and speculation - has enabled him to make a private fortune through share trading on the side.
